Business - AAT - Award in Bookkeeping with Accounting Spreadsheets- Level 1
The skills developed by studying this qualification will develop an understanding of the role of the bookkeeper, including the need to produce timely and accurate work and follow ethical principles. Students will learn how to identify assets, liabilities, income, expenses, capital profit and loss, and the differences between trading for cash or trading on credit. The skills developed will give students a solid base from which to seek employment with greater confidence or enable them to progress to the next level of learning. Students will also learn the role that software can have in bookkeeping.
It is also suitable for those who are already employed in bookkeeping roles, those wishing to develop their skills and small business owners who want to do their own books.

Course CTL102-25 will be delivered in the classroom at Croydon Clocktower.
DEL104-25 will take place online via Zoom. IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT FOR THIS COURSE, you will need to come into the centre at Croydon Clocktower for one session nearing the end of the course so that you can complete the speaking and listening assessments which need to recorded in person. The Tutor will let you know in advance, the date and the time for these assessments.
This course assumes you have studied French for about a year and can cope in first contact situations and communicate simply in the language using the present tense.
During this course, you will develop your language skills to be able to use a limited range of simple words and sentences to form statements and questions in familiar situations, giving a short talk on a familiar topic using present, past (passé composé) and future timeframes to a limited extent.

To join any of these advanced classes, you should have studied Spanish for at least 5 years and be able to converse fairly well with a native speaker, using a range of different tenses.
The course will give you the opportunity to improve your fluency and to use and understand more complex language. You will increase your mastery of the various tenses to express yourself more confidently both in written work and by taking part in discussions on various topics. You will also enhance your reading skills and knowledge of the culture of various Spanish speaking countries and will explore literature and film.

This course will be blended - delivered online and in the classroom.
PLEASE NOTE - This is NOT a Teaching Assistant course and is NOT suitable for you if you wish to support younger children in the classroom. This course is aimed only at those wishing to teach Adults in the Adult Education Sector.
The Ascentis Level 3 Award in Education is an introduction to teaching and it is appropriate for teachers, tutors and trainers who may be working within an FE college, Community Learning and Skills Provider or Independent Learning Provider i.e with learners post 14 years of age. The course is also aimed at learners who wish to gain a taste of teaching in the Adult Education sector before deciding to pursue a career in teaching. (Ascentis is the Awarding Body)
Assessment sessions are not available yet to book but please keep your eye on the website for further details. They will be held at CALAT Croydon Clocktower centre in September 2025.
Before you are able to enrol on this course, you will need to book and attend an assessment/formation session. You will need to create an online account to book your place on the assessment. Each session will last approximately 1-2 hours. The sessions are broken down into half-hour slots so you will need to select an appointment slot and arrive promptly for the start of the session.
Please bring along proof of any benefits you may be entitled to, as well as your Passport/ ID card or Home Office letter if applicable. Accredited courses may be free to those in receipt of certain benefits and who meet the eligibility criteria for UK residency.
