Business - AAT - Award in Bookkeeping with Accounting Spreadsheets- Level 1
The skills developed by studying this qualification will develop an understanding of the role of the bookkeeper, including the need to produce timely and accurate work and follow ethical principles. Students will learn how to identify assets, liabilities, income, expenses, capital profit and loss, and the differences between trading for cash or trading on credit. The skills developed will give students a solid base from which to seek employment with greater confidence or enable them to progress to the next level of learning. Students will also learn the role that software can have in bookkeeping.
It is also suitable for those who are already employed in bookkeeping roles, those wishing to develop their skills and small business owners who want to do their own books.

You will need to be over 19 to take part and in receipt of a low-wage or unemployed and receiving Universal Credit or similar.
The successful completion of the course will allow entry onto an AAT Level 1 course.
There is no entry requirements although a reasonable level of English & Maths is needed.

This course will take place in the classroom at Croydon Clocktower.
This British Sign Language course follows-on from the BSL Introduction part 1 course which ran during January and February. Students who did not follow this course should already be able to finger-spell the BSL alphabet, know basic numbers and be able to sign a very basic meet and greet conversation - this course is not suitable for complete beginners.
During this course you will begin to build your vocabulary and learn to produce and receive more detailed phrases in BSL.

Ascentis Level 3 Award in Education & Training
This course will be blended - delivered online and in the classroom.
PLEASE NOTE - This is NOT a Teaching Assistant course and is NOT suitable for you if you wish to support younger children in the classroom. This course is aimed only at those wishing to teach Adults in the Adult Education Sector.
The Ascentis Level 3 Award in Education is an introduction to teaching and it is appropriate for teachers, tutors and trainers who may be working within an FE college, Community Learning and Skills Provider or Independent Learning Provider i.e with learners post 14 years of age. The course is also aimed at learners who wish to gain a taste of teaching in the Adult Education sector before deciding to pursue a career in teaching. (Ascentis is the Awarding Body)
Before you are able to enrol on this course, you will need to book and attend an assessment/formation session. You will need to create an online account to book your place on the assessment. Click on the 'Enrol' button to book your session for this course and follow the booking/registration instructions.
Additional assessment sessions for this course will be held at CALAT Croydon Clocktower centre on:
Thursday 13th February 2025 between 5:00 and 7:00pm
Each session will last approximately 1-2 hours. The sessions are broken down into half-hour slots so you will need to select an appointment slot and arrive promptly for the start of the session.
Please bring along proof of any benefits you may be entitled to, as well as your Passport/ ID card or Home Office letter if applicable. Accredited courses may be free to those in receipt of certain benefits and who meet the eligibility criteria for UK residency.
Course fees over £120.00 can be paid by manual instalments.
