Who is this course for?
The course is for everyone regardless of ability or experience and will be tailored to suit individual’s current levels.
Especially welcome are beginner artists & anyone that wishes to achieve a sense of wellbeing through creative activity & exploration.
What will I learn on this course?
Learners will learn how to mix different tones & shades of a colour alongside a comprehensive overview of colour theory terminology. This will lead to an understanding of the language used to describe the various aspects of art.
Learners will have the opportunity to practise colour mixing & experiment with its many techniques & outcomes & then use this knowledge & practical experience in a painting of their choice. Worksheets & all art & colour theory information will be available for all learners to take away with them for future reference in paper or electronic form.

A3 paper pad (140gms upwards)
HB sketching pencil & eraser.
Water colour media of choice
Masking tape
Range of paintbrushes
Course entry requirements
For Creative Arts course learners must be able to work independently
Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills are required to follow verbal and written instruction.
Course location / delivery method
The course will be held @ CALAT Croydon Clocktower Centre
CALAT forms which will be filled out every session (RARPA) to monitor progress & individual goal achievement. Your tutor will support you individually & as a group with an element of peer support in place too.
Assessments will take place via 1-1 & group discussion, questions and answers, homework, research, critique of completed work and feedback forms.
