Who is this course for?

The course is for everyone regardless of ability or experience and will be tailored to suit individual’s current levels.

Suitable for beginner artists & anyone that wishes to achieve a sense of wellbeing through creative activity & exploration

Course entry requirements:

For Creative Arts course learners must be able to work independently
Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills are required to follow verbal and written instruction.

What will I learn on this course?

Learners will be given a tutor led demonstration about how to mix different tones & shades of a colour alongside a comprehensive overview of colour theory terminology in order to gain an understanding into the language used to describe the various aspects of art, therefore being able to utilise this to inform their creative practise.

Learners will then have the opportunity to practise colour mixing & experiment with its many techniques & outcomes & then use this knowledge & practical experience in a painting of their choice. Worksheets & all art & colour theory information will be available for all learners to take away with them for future reference in paper or electronic form.

Course location / delivery method:

The course will be held @ CALAT CENTRAL CROYDON .CLOCK TOWER.

Your tutor will support you individually and as a group with an element of peer support in place too.

Assessments will take place via 1-1 & group discussion, questions and answers, homework, research, critique of completed work and feedback forms.

Additional Information (equipment required etc.):

A3 paper pad (140gms upwards)
HB sketching pencil & eraser
Water Based paint media of choice
Masking tape
Range of paintbrushes
