What will I learn?
You will learn how to make your own contemporary statement jewellery using the wire wrap techniques, using beads and learning about different wires and measurements .You will also learn how to design as you play and explore with your choice of beads and materials . We will provide you with the jewellery pliers that you will need for this course as you will be taught and come familiar with how to use them in a safe and healthy way .The wire wrapping is a way you can make your own unique pieces without soldering .
Subject Contents /Topics to be covered
This course is a fun-filled course and will cover a wide range of techniques such as wire wrapping, closures, how to set stones without soldering, making pattern designs from wire and Health & Safety.
You will develop life skills such as mental well being, social skills and confidence building .
Teachers Learning Method
The class will be taught through a combination of demonstrations, one to ones, pair/group work, home work and research, group discussions, questions and answers, observations and tutor feedback.

None required

You will be assessed through Q&As, Worksheets and quizzes.

To be confirmed depending on the materials used for the session.
What extra work do I need to do outside of the classroom?
Look for old unwanted items and materials you would like to add to your project. Research.
Equipment /Materials to be brought to the first session
Pen and notebook
Small to medium size beads or old beaded jewellery you would like to upcycle .
If you use reading glasses or wear glasses please remember to bring them .
Get creative by playing and exploring with colours, textures and design . Meet new like minded people and have lots of fun .
Other notes
You will be asked to complete necessary paperwork in order that CALAT can claim government funding to subsidise the cost of the course.
