                        Who is the course suitable for?
                    
                    This course is for people that are interested in working within the Early Years or Care sectors, and who do not have an existing qualification in either of these areas.
The course may be free depending on your current employment status or income.
Please note that here is a minimum age limit to enrol on this course.  You must have reached the age of 19 years as of 31.8.24.

                    Course title:  ASCENTIS E3 Award Progression for Care and Childcare 
Location:  CALAT, Strand House, Zion Road, Thornton Heath, CR7 8RG
                
                    
                        What will I learn?
                    
                    You will understand more about working in Care and Early Years and the skills and knowledge you will need to work in the sector.
This course will support you to understand the skills needed to work with both children and adults. It helps you to understand communication skills, ICT skills and interview skills.                                                                                                     
                
                    
                        What related qualifications can you progress to?
                    
                    Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to:
Level 1 -  Introduction to Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's settings 
                
                    
                        Attendance requirements
                    
                    You will need to attend punctually each week and stay for the duration of the course.
                
                    
                        How the course will be taught
                    
                    The course will be taught by an experienced subject specialist tutor.  You will complete subject booklets and participate in group discussions.
                
                    
                        How to apply
                    
                    Once you contact us you will be invited to attend an information and assessment session at our Thornton Heath centre.
At the session you will complete a short English assessment and have a discussion with the course tutor.
The course may be free depending on your current employment status or income.  
When you attend, you will need to bring with you, official Photo ID and proof of income (your last 3 months' wage slips, or if unemployed, proof of any benefits you are currently in receipt of.)

Unfortunately, we cannot see anyone who has not booked onto the information session in advance. We are unable to admit children at these sessions.
If successful, you will be offered a place on the course, and receive an offer letter.
