Who is the course suitable for?

This course is for people that are interested in working within the Early Years or Care sectors, and who do not have an existing qualification in either of these areas.

The course may be free depending on your current employment status or income.

What will I learn?

You will understand more about working in Care and Early Years and the skills and knowledge you will need to work in the sector.

This course will support you to understand the skills needed to work with both children and adults. It helps you to understand communication skills, ICT skills and interview skills.

What related qualifications can you progress to?

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to:

Level 1 - Introduction to Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's settings

Attendance requirements

You will need to attend punctually each week and stay for the duration of the course.

How the course will be taught

The course will be taught by an experienced subject specialist tutor. You will complete subject booklets and participate in group discussions.

How to apply

We are holding information sessions at our CALAT centre at Thornton Heath, Strand House.
You will need to book onto one of these sessions in advance to be enrolled onto this course.

We cannot see anyone who has not booked an appointment in advance and we are unable to admit children to these sessions.
