What will I learn?

You will learn a range of techniques to create music with voice and any instruments that you bring to class. You will look at soundscapes, wordplay, improvisation and creating from a range of prompts. You will learn to improvise, respond to our inner and outer environments to make new work together in small and larger groups. You will build confidence to try new approaches to creating and playing music.

Subject contents/Topics to be covered

Search and Reflect (John Stevens), Life Music techniques (Rod Paton) starting from simple initiators, random, stimulus and chance methods and play with lyrics, melody, rhythm and style.

Teaching/Learning Methods

This is practical, participatory and experiential.

Self assessment weekly plus start and finish.
