Spanish for your holidays
Little or no knowledge of Spanish. However, students should have a good standard of spoken and written English and be able to work independently.
What will I learn?
Phrases that will be useful while on holiday in a Spanish speaking country.
Greet and introduce people: formal and informal
Simple phrases and vocabulary that can be used in different communicative situations such as: asking the price, ordering a snack and a drink, buying items in a shop and booking accommodation.
Some tips from the tutor regarding holidays in Spain.
Subject contents/Topics to be covered:
Ordering drinks and snacks in a café
Requesting information, asking for simple directions.
Shopping: asking for prices of different items.
This class will be delivered online via Zoom
Teacher presentation, followed by students practising together in small groups, pairs or as a whole class.
Watching and listening to audio/on-line presentations.
What examinations will I be able to take?
There will be no examinations during this course.
Continuous assessment by the Tutor to update you on your progress
Additional costs to students:
What extra work will I need to do outside the classroom?
Approximately one hour per week going over work done in class and learning vocabulary.
Equipment/information needed to participate in class:
This course will be delivered online via Zoom. You will need to have a webcam and a microphone in order to participate fully. You will also need a current e-mail address so that your Tutor can send you the invitation to join her online classroom. You will need to ensure you supply your e-mail address when you enrol so that you are able to participate from the start.
Details of your e-mail address and mobile telephone number are important so you may be notified of course changes or work set if you are absent from class or if the Tutor cannot teach for any reason.
Completion of this course will enable students to join a new Spanish Beginners course in September 2021
