Painting & Drawing - Develop Creative Expression with Art
The course is suitable for beginners and for those with some experience wishing to refresh their skills and confidence.
No prior knowledge of the subject. A basic level of literacy, language, numeracy, and ability to follow simple verbal instructions are required.
Subject Contents/Topics to be Covered
The course will cover observation drawing and painting of still-life objects using a range of materials (though you can still participate with a limited range of materials). Ideally materials will include charcoal, pencil, ink, Acrylic paint & brushes, and some basic collage. Traditional methods of observation and more experimental approaches will be used to encourage a personal approach.
Practical work, individual and group tutoring with group participation and fun informal discussion.
What Examinations Will I be Able to Take?
No examinations on this course.
Informal discussion of personal goals and reflections.
Additional Costs to Students:
You are expected to provide your own drawing and painting materials and will be given advice in the first lesson on what you will need.
What Extra Work Do I Need to Do Outside the Classroom?
Extra practice is helpful but discretionary.
Equipment Materials to be brought to the First Meeting
A3 cartridge pad, drawing pencils (e.g. HB, 4B), thin charcoal (and one or two thicker sticks if you can manage it), a good quality eraser.
