Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone who wants to develop their theoretical & practical knowledge on how to compose a piece of artwork.

What will I learn on this course?

During this course you will be visually exploring & learning about the function & purpose of some of the elements & principles of art within a picture. Every artwork you see will have some (not all) of the elements & principles of art within it.

Each week you will be focusing on learning the theory, defining & visually illustrating a given element or principle within a piece of artwork in a structured manner. In the final week you can choose to combine all the learning from this short course & create your own artwork which defines your understanding of the elements & principles of art.

We will be referring throughout this short course to examples within art history that define & illustrate the elements & principles of art & discussing how they enhance a pictures narrative.

You will need to bring A3 paper, drawing & painting media to each lesson.
