City & Guilds Award in Principles of Customer Service - Level 1

Prior knowledge

No previous experience or knowledge required.

What will I learn?

The aim of the course is to provide learners with the skills required to deliver efficient, reliable customer service and to give them an understanding of the benefits of developing their own, as well as others skills within the customer service environment.

Subject contents / topics to be covered

The 4 units outlined for the Principles of Customer Service Award include a range of tasks to cover the full scope of learning outcomes as follows:

* How to deliver good customer service
* Different methods of communication
* How to provide good customer service in line with organisational procedures
* How to effectively deal with customer queries, problems and complaints


Teaching / learning methods

Teaching and learning will take place online via zoom, with a classroom based exam.

As this course is taught online via zoom - you will need access to a PC, laptop or tablet with a webcam and have a good internet connection.

What extra work do I need to oo outside the classroom?

Homework as set by the tutor.

What examinations will I be able to take?

The City & Guilds Award in Principles of Customer Service - Level 1

To be considered for a place on an upcoming course you will need to attend an information & assessment session to be held at 6pm online via zoom on the following date:

Monday 8th April 2024

Entry requirements

A good standard of spoken and written English and the ability to work independently.

You will be asked to complete necessary paperwork in order that CALAT can claim government funding to subsidise the cost of the course.

Equipment Required

Learners are advised to bring a notepad, pens and pencils to all sessions.
